We offer all the visa services the typical tourist needs in SE Asia. We can get you a standard tourist visa for countries such as China, Thailand, Cambodia, and Laos. We can help you with extending your Vietnamese visa. Keep in mind that paying for visa services is often worth the small commission you pay, since you don’t have to find the embassy, stand in line, deal with less-than-friendly bureaucrats, get ripped off by the money-changers or even fill out paperwork. You’ve got better things to do in Hanoi!

Speak to Reception about your visa needs, and please allow several days for a complex visa issue. Keep in mind that your passport will be at the consulate/embassy so plan ahead if you are going to Halong Bay or Sapa – you need your passport (or a photocopy, which we can make for you) for those destinations.

Please plan ahead. You will pay a premium for express service.

A Vietnamese entry visa is required for all foreigners wishing to visit Vietnam except for citizens of countries having bilateral agreements on visa exemption with Vietnam.
Visa on Arrival
There is a lot of confusion about this. Often tourists show up at the airport thinking that they can go to Immigration and Immigration will just give them 30 days’ stay, like Thailand or Singapore. This is NOT the case in Vietnam! Think of it more like the final step of your preparation for a visa. Visa On Arrival does not mean that you can arrive at the airport with no prior arrangements whatsoever, and expect to get a visa that day.
Visa on Arrival means that you will be able to collect your visa that you have already done all the paperwork for before you arrive. The advantage of a Visa on Arrival is that you will not need to go to a Vietnamese embassy or consulate to apply for a visa, and it is convenient for people who really want to save their valuable time.
You will need to arrange a Letter of Visa on Arrival.
In order to get this letter a sponsoring organization does the paperwork for you. The Jasmine Hotel can provide this service for you.
The letter is then issued by the Vietnamese Immigration Department. Airlines accept this letter and you can get your Visa On Arrival at your entry airport in Vietnam easily.
For Visa on Arrival application, we need the following information:
Full name (Name exactly as in passport)
Sex (male/ female)
Date of birth
Nationality
Passport number
Arrival date
Arrival flight number
Departure date
This information will be sent to the Vietnamese Immigration Department. They process the information and then issue a Letter of Visa on Arrival for you. This letter will be scanned and sent to your email address or your fax. You will be allowed to get on board at your departure airport with the copy of this letter. At the arrival airport in Vietnam you can get your visa with the letter and your passport.
Getting a Visa at the Embassy
Getting a visa at the embassy means you collect your visa at the Vietnamese Embassy or Consulate in the country you are living in or where you are travelling. Please note that some countries do not have a Vietnamese Embassy or Consulate in which case you will have to mail your passports. This can be very time-consuming and complicated if you are on the road.
